20. “You’re not interesting ’cause you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I got to listen to you talking?” — Louis C.K.

18. “You know what, honestly, I think you should let me run the country. You run CNN and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better.” — Donald Trump to Jim Acosta

17. “We don’t really have policy debates anymore. We have one big tribal conflict, and policy fights are just proxy battles as each side tries to establish moral superiority.” — David Brooks

16. “The first casualty of hyper-partisanship is nuance. So when nuance is condemned as being insufficiently partisan, truth quickly becomes the next casualty.” — Alan Dershowitz

15. “Any statement — any statement — must be gauged not only on the basis of its truth-value, according to the Left, but on the basis of whether such truth is likely to offend — or, at last, whether such truth is likely to offend groups the Left perceives as victimized. According to the Left, any and all truth must take a back seat to ‘your truth,’ so long as you claim minority status in any way.” — Ben Shapiro

14. “Humans in the last 500 years (and most intensely in the last century) have created a world utterly different than the one humans lived in for close to 99 percent of our time on the planet. We are a species built on tribe; yet we live increasingly alone in societies so vast and populous our ancestors would not recognize them; we are a species designed for scarcity and now live with unimaginable plenty; we are a species built on religious ritual to appease our existential angst, and yet we now live in a world where every individual has to create her own meaning from scratch; we are a species built for small-scale monocultural community and now live increasingly in multiracial, multicultural megacities.” – Andrew Sullivan

13. “‘People are terrible on the internet but not in real life.’ Wrong. If you’re a terrible person here, you’re just a terrible person. This is real life. You are a real person interacting with other people on this forum. What you say here is real and it reveals who you truly are.” — Matt Walsh

8. “We live in the most non-patriarchal moment in all of American history, if not all of Western history, if not all of human history. And yet so profound is the need to fight this terrible foe that, across the landscape, Donna Quixotes are constantly tilting their lances at mirages of their own imaginations.” — Jonah Goldberg

5. “The goal of our culture now is not the emancipation of the individual from the group, but the permanent definition of the individual by the group. We used to call this bigotry. Now we call it being woke.” — Andrew Sullivan

4. “Responsibility without authority is slavery.” — Rollo Tomassi

3. “One thing that we must come to recognize is that prosperity in the sense in which it has been defined by economists and politicians for generations now is a chimera. Working the coupon center screen at CVS is not meaningful labor. Unlimited access to cheap consumer goods manufactured by foreign wage-slaves is not leisure. Taking your children to a restaurant and handing them an iPad game is not parenting. Spending four hours a day waiting to see whether a star or a heart or an arrow has appeared next to a picture or a caption you have posted on a computer network is not community. Watching pornography is not human intimacy. Grinding away to achieve a certain test score is not education, nor is signing away half the price of a modest house in order to finance a four-year pajama party.
