Cold And Refreshing
When I was a kid these were a common site.
When you opened the lid, there was a maze-like structure with the soft drinks sitting in ice-cold water. You moved your selection to a certain spot that enabled you to remove it after inserting the appropriate coinage. The drinks were definitely colder than the upright refrigeration units that replaced them.
In later years, you could sometimes find them with beer in them, as I did once in the old part of Las Vegas. The beer had a few crystals in it when I took a swig, just as I like them.
