My Years At Van Nuys High School

When I started high school I was officially a “Scrub” as that’s what Freshman students were called back then.

This video was put together by someone in the class of 1959.

I graduated in the Winter ’62 Class, the Courtiers, so didn’t know any of the kids shown later on in the video, but most of the faculty was still there during my high school years.

The actor, Stacy Keach graduated from VNHS in 1959 and can be seen in one of the photos toward the end. Orientation was held on my first day there and Stacy conducted the campus tour for the group I was in. Who knew back then he would be famous one day? 

I have great memories of my high school days back then for sure.

I sold it about a year ago, but when I drove my restored ’55 Olds, I would plug in my iPhone and listen to oldies as I cruised around town.

In certain places, it was as if I was reliving those wonderful, much simpler times.
