I have built a couple of PCs over the years, but the thought of building an iPhone from a bunch of parts is very intimidating to me.

The guy in the video below visits Shenzhen, China on a regular basis for work and decided he would give it a try to see if he could do it. He spent about $300 on parts and a considerable amount of time getting those parts and putting the phone together. In the end, he did it and the phone works fine, but if you consider the amount of time it took, he would have been a lot better off just buying the phone.

What I find truly amazing about this video are the many markets and vendors that make a living selling phone parts. They all seemed very helpful and above all, honest with their customers. I commend them.
