A Look Back At California In The 1940s and 1950s

Here are some fantastic videos of California in the 1940s and 1950s.

See how healthy people look and notice the hats. Hats are everywhere.

I was born in Los Angeles in 1943 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, so these scenes are very familiar to me. Back then people didn’t lock their front doors and left their keys in their cars because they didn’t worry about what might happen.

Would I go back to those simpler times if possible? You betcha!

Here is another one in Los Angeles, but at night in the 1950s. The stores are open at night and people are walking around without a care in the world because street criminals are not allowed to do as they please.

Can you identify the streets or neighborhoods?
